   Fonts — the brand's text face, self-hosted.

   The design system was drawn in **SF Pro** and ships @font-face pointing to
   nine .otf files. We can't follow it to the letter: its own readme warns that
   SF Pro "is not redistributable" — Apple's license covers developing for its
   platforms, not hosting the face on a domain of ours.

   The substitute isn't my call: **spaceneedle.tech already runs on Inter**.
   Every page on the site (and every old branch of the repository) requests
   `family=Inter:ital,opsz,wght@0,14..32,100..900;1,...` from Google Fonts, and
   no font file was ever versioned there. Inter is, in practice, the brand's
   face on the web — and it's SF's canonical substitute by design.

   What changes here relative to the site:

   1. **Self-hosted, not Google Fonts.** No third party in the rendering path
      (a third-party CDN goes down without us knowing) and no user IP going to
      another domain on every visit — which matters for privacy law in an
      enterprise product. OFL 1.1 permits redistribution; the license travels
      in ../fonts/Inter-OFL.txt because it requires it.
   2. **Apple still sees the real SF.** The stack in tokens.css puts
      `-apple-system` before Inter, so on Mac/iPhone it renders the native
      face — which IS SF, exact, without downloading a single byte. Inter only
      steps in where SF doesn't exist.

   Same axes the site requests: italic (the DS ships italic in five weights),
   `opsz` (optical size — the design self-adjusts between a 12px label and a
   96px display) and weights 100–900, which cover --fw-regular to --fw-black
   with room to spare. Each file is variable: one covers the whole range.

   Real weight on an English page: **71 KB**. The accents cover fits entirely
   within the Latin subset; latin-ext only steps in if a character outside it
   appears, and the italics only if something is genuinely italic.
